Museum Information
Public Interest Incorporated Foundation "DEWAZAKURA ART MUSEUM"
DEWAZAKURA ART MUSEUM opened in 1988 after receiving donations of ceramics, porcelains and handicrafts from Seijiro Nakano, who were 3rd generation of Nakano family.
The art museum building is a beautiful example of traditional Japanese architecture (Registered National Tangible Cultural Property).
The main exhibits are ceramics, porcelains and handicrafts from the Silla, Goryeo and Yi Dynasties of ancient Korea. Occasionally there are special exhibits related to cherry blossoms; paintings and calligraphic works by modern artists such as Shinichi Saito; and pottery works from the Six Old Kilns of Seto, Tokoname, Echizen, Shigaraki, Tamba and Bizen.
